️The first workshop of the specialized series “Hemophilia: From Gene to Society” was held with a focus on prevention
The Foundation for Special Diseases has designed and planned a series of specialized workshops titled “Hemophilia: From Gene to Society.” These workshops are implemented with the aim of exchanging specialized experiences, presenting executive solutions, and strengthening synergy among medical, scientific, and insurance institutions.
The first workshop of this series, with the theme “Prevention Management in Hemophilia,” was held on December 1 at the Foundation for Special Diseases and addressed topics such as the basics of genetics and inheritance patterns, pre-marriage and pre-pregnancy counseling, screening and prenatal diagnosis methods, family and community care, issues and challenges, new methods of prevention in hemophilia, and laws and guidelines for prevention and therapeutic abortion.
This workshop was held with the participation of leading medical genetics professors, hematology specialists, mental health experts, representatives of the Ministry of Health, the Legal Medicine Organization, and insurance organizations, experts in special diseases, officials of provincial hemophilia associations, a religious expert, and representatives of families with children living with hemophilia.
Hemophilia, beyond being a medical issue, is one of the national and humanitarian challenges in the country’s health sector which, due to its genetic, social, and economic dimensions, requires a comprehensive approach, targeted policymaking, and close cooperation among governmental bodies, scientific centers, and civil organizations.
This workshop is part of the Foundation for Special Diseases’ program to improve policymaking, enhance service quality, and reduce the incidence of hemophilia in the country. Five additional workshops in this series will be held in the coming months on the topics of “Treatment Evaluation and Monitoring,” “Management of Treatment Complications,” “Nursing Management and Specialized Care,” “Health Economics Management,” and “Legal, Social, and Psychological Management.”
